Leavenworth, Washington, Off the Grid, Mountain Elopement

When I plan my own wedding, this is what I’m envisioning: my closest people, at a place that brings so many good memories, in a place that I love, with good food, good music, and a damn good time.

This was the kind of planning that required so much thought and detail, because as soon as you get deep into the mountains, you lose service. If we went too far, or made a wrong turn, there was no way we’d be able to meet the couple at their off-the-grid, tiny home.

We drove about 40 minutes into the Wenatchee-Okanogen Forest, and to the private property gate where we met the groom’s dad, who then had to pick us up and drive us up to the tiny home. Once we got to the property, we were greeted by a small group of loved ones who were gathered around, chatting, laughing, and enjoying the celebration. Everyone made a toast to the couple and we made our way through the trees to a flat, and open area that gave us a stunning view of the mountains and the incredibly long waterfall (see the third image below).

After the couple exchanged their vows and rings, the celebration continued with hugs and love all around. We all made our way into town, but on the way back, we made a few stops to take couples portraits. The day prior to the wedding, I scouted the area, and found this perfect location not too far off the main road, and knew I had to bring them here for portraits. We climbed up the boulders and had a 180 degree view of the winding river, and the yellow larches and fall-colored leaves that covered the rocky canyon.

We made our way to the Sleeping Lady Resort, where we indulged on a delicious multi-course meal and the best chocolate fudge cake I’d ever eaten, seriously ever. In the resort, there’s a cozy bar with an outdoor fire pit and we finished off the evening hanging out and enjoying each others company.

Cheers to my dear friends! Thank you for bringing me to be a part of your wedding day!
